Global health law short courses

If you live on planet earth, you have a stake in global health law.

This post draws attention to two upcoming short courses taught by global health law colleagues in Europe.

Summer in Geneva?  The University of Geneva will be hosting a course on International Law, Global Health and Global Justice on June 26-30, 2023.

The program has a particular focus on pandemic preparedness including the WHO’s global pandemic instrument that is currently under negotiation. This course will be taught at Fondation Brocher on the shores of lake Geneva. What’s not to like?

Summer in the Netherlands?  Our friends at the University of Groningen will also be hosting a course on Human Rights and Global Health Challenges on July 17-21, 2023, in Groningen.

Non-communicable diseases will feature in this week-long course, but the syllabus includes a broad range of topics at the interface between human rights, and global health (see Learning outcomes, here).

Both the courses above are suitable for current Bachelor and Masters students.

Sydney Law School also offers units with a global health law focus, as part of our Master of Health Law, including: Global Health Law (taught by Professor Lawrence Gostin, July17-20, 2023); Law, Business & Healthy Lifestyles (currently being taught); and Critical Issues in Public Health Law (to be taught, Semester 1, 2024).
